Did you ever wonder just why you are on this earth? I know I have. Since surviving a serious heart attack and having a 5-way bypass at the age of 77, while others much younger have passed away, it has really weighed on my mind.

Friends have sought to encourage me by saying, “God still has work for you to do.” But just what is that work? Then, as I studied the Scriptures, several things have been made clear to me.
First, God reinforced my conviction that there is a purpose for all of us—and He has laid it out in advance. Psalms 139:16 states “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Yes, the number of my days was established in God’s book, and there is unfinished work already recorded on His pages for me to do.

The question is: What is that work? In 2 Cor 1:3-4 Paul gives us a clue with these words: “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Peter invites us to “Cast all your anxiety (care) on him because he cares for you” (I Peter 1:7). We are invited to do this, because it is only then that we receive and experience the comfort that is offered to us in all our tribulation. Once we experience that comfort, then we are prepared to comfort those who are in trouble—but not until.

Yes, each of us has experienced our own areas of tribulation—the loss of a loved one, the loss of earthly assets, the loss of a job or career, or the loss of our health—and has asked God “why?” Perhaps his answer is so that we may know the comfort that He alone can give in order that we may be able to comfort those in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted by God.

Sharing and comforting each other was an underlying theme in many of the writings of the apostles to the early church. These are still needed today. In Hebrews 3:13 we are admonished to “encourage one another daily.” In Hebrews 10 we are admonished to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, to keep meeting together—and all the more as we see the Day approaching. 1 Thes. 4:18 and 1Thes. 5:11  challenge the believers of the early church to “encourage each other” and to “build each other up.” This is Our Purpose.

3. Jesus offers us the answer. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

4. You must accept Jesus for salvation. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)

5. Now is the best time to do it! “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.” (2 Cor. 6:2b)

Many blessings are experienced at Lakeland RV Resort because of a wonderful church family that prays and stays connected.

Every Sunday at 9am the recreation hall is turned into a very special place of worship where attendees hear the organ, accordion and piano playing as they enter in community.  The smell the cinnamon buns in the oven serve as a reminder that coffee and fellowship will follow after the service.

Worshipers are blessed with a 24-member choir which also gives a spring concert to a packed audience .  A couple from Wisconsin, serve as choir directors.  Byron is a retired music teacher.  His wife Arlene has crippling arthritis in her hands but God has given her the the gift and ability to play old time hymns – her fingers flowing from one end of the keyboard to the other.

Many neighbors of various faiths or denominations attend following their own services just to enjoy the music and hear Pastor “Ollie’s”  message. Just another blessing! He is a retired minister from Michigan who weekly teaches God’s Word – impacting the hearts of all.

This church is a very important part of resident’s and visitor’s life at Lakeland Rv Resort.  The church community maintains a  remarkable prayer chain which even extends to those traveling away from the resort.  Many have testified to how God has answered prayers and requests..

At InventorSpot.com, a detachable RV is being featured. It is quite modernistic looking and is environmentally friendly.

Not much detail is given, but what makes it unique is that the front is detachable.

The little car by itself would likely get great mileage. The whole RV has to be light weight.

The living quarters can sleep 4 people and there is a kitchenette and bathroom. It has storage room and natural lighting.

The only disappointing thing is that this is a design from a German student and there are no plans for production. But wouldn’t this be a hoot to drive?

My husband Ed and I purchased an RV Park three years ago. In it’s initial life, the park was known as a “party park”. Through the chain of previous owners, the park had been “cleaned up” so Ed and I simply continued  where they left off.

During our first two years we noticed a need for a Sunday morning church service and in our third year we started a short service. Although it is not well attended, it has produced some unexpected results.

One is that we lost about half of our seasonal members. It wasn’t a result of hounding them to come to the services. We only told them that the service was available to them.  In a park that is struggling financially, their leaving was a bitter pill to swallow. However, we found that the drinkers left and those who have stayed – even tho they may not attend the service – are easy to talk to about spiritual things and thus the atmosphere is very comfortable. We have been able to be a part of there lives in a deeper way than just clients. Being with them in everything form weddings to funerals.

Today, as we rebuild our park, we are looking for a way to reach clients that want to be in nature and enjoy the beauty of our park where you can sit by the campfire, see the stars and sing a campfire song or just enjoy the laughter of being with friends.

We don’t have a water slide but we do have a lake full of frogs that serenade you to sleep.

We don’t have planes that fly over head but we have a owl that will swoop down like a stealth fighter.

We have a “john deer” that will walk through the park and stand in the adjacent corn fields watching us watch him.

In the evening you may hear the lowing of cattle – it sounds so gentle that way. But when the cattle are giving birth it is quite the sound to hear!

As you can probably tell, we are located in a rural community with farms all around.  We are just about 35-45 minuets outside of the Quad cities in Cambridge, Illinois. We welcome groups of  RVers  from churches and supervised youth group campers.

We have a pavilion that can be used for meetings, bands and ………. church!
